Total Madness

A fill-in-the-blank party game — answers on your phone, laughs on the TV

Total Madness is a Cards-Against-Humanity-style judging game with 100% original cards. Each round, the TV shows a black card with a blank; everyone else secretly plays white answer cards from their phone. The dealer flips each anonymous answer on the TV, reads it aloud, and crowns a favorite. Join by QR code, no app required.

How a round works

  1. One player deals: their black card (1–3 blanks) appears on the TV.
  2. Everyone else picks answer cards from their phone — submissions land face-down and anonymous.
  3. The dealer flips each answer, the blank fills in on the TV, and they read it out loud.
  4. The dealer crowns the funniest answer — its owner scores a point and the deal rotates.

Three decks, one for every table

The Family deck keeps it silly and all-ages. Premium unlocks the cheeky PG-13 deck and an 18+ Mature deck (with a warning the host confirms first), plus longer first-to-5 and first-to-7 games.

FAQ

Is Total Madness free to play?

Yes — free rooms play a Quick game (everyone deals 3 times) on the Family deck, up to 4 players. Premium unlocks 8 players, the PG-13 and Mature decks, and longer games.

Is this Cards Against Humanity?

No — it's HostBox's original take on the fill-in-the-blank judging genre, with all-new cards (including a fully family-friendly deck). No app, no deck of cards to buy — just the TV and phones.

How many people can play?

3 to 8. One player deals each round while everyone else answers, so it's best with 4 or more — read the full rules.
